Stepping into the 1700's

Wednesday of our vacation we decided to head back to Colonial Williamsburg to see some of the last sights we've yet to see over the past few years.  One new sight was the brick maker.  This was a "feet-on" exhibit and we all got a chance to stomp around in the clay to mix it up for bricks they use for restoration projects around the town.

Trey required lots of coaxing to get into the clay.  He let me carry him into it at first...

And after a lot of convincing Chas did manage to talk him into squishing his toes around in the clay for a little bit.  Too bad little Xavier was peacefully sleeping - I would have loved to see his reaction to the clay.

We walked to see the cabinet maker next and then we were off to the gaol (a.k.a. the jail in modern times).  Trey happily agreed to sit on the toilet in one of the cells.

After the jail we also finally saw the Capitol building and then headed back to the condo for an afternoon break from the heat.  That night we headed back to Busch Gardens for some more rides and fireworks.

Trey's face was amazing during the fireworks.  It has been a couple of years since he's seen them and it was so heartwarming to hear him talk about how much he liked watching them in the sky.

This is the first year we've gotten to see fireworks - we've gone too early in the season the other years to catch their IllumiNights.  One part of IllumiNights is little shows that are performed in each country around the park. We happened to catch the show that was in Italy that night: acrobats.  I think this picture speaks for itself.
