On Tuesday of our vacation we decided to introduce both boys to the beach and the ocean for the first time. Trey was so happy the first time he saw all the sand at the beach! He couldn't wait to get his Crocs off and wiggle his toes in the sand.
Trey loved splashing in the waves. He would "fight" them as they came to shore. He also loved building sand castles and destroying them and would even walk by other sand castles that were abandoned and crush them with his feet.
Xavier wasn't so keen on the ocean water - it was a little too chilly for him still - he likes his water nice and warm
Xavier did enjoy just hanging out in his Pack-n-Play in the shade of our canopy. He loved looking at all the colors and new sights all around him.
All in all we had a great day visiting Virginia Beach. The adults had fun jumping waves in the ocean and the kids loved the sand. Visiting the beach did remind me of how sand loves to find its way EVERYWHERE. I think we'll be cleaning sand out of the van for a long time. But the memories of our kids' first time to the ocean was worth all the sand in the world!
