This weekend we decided to venture into the backyard, pitch our tent, and introduce Trey to some camping adventures. We wanted to try a dry run of camping at home with Trey before we think of taking him for his first camping trip.
We started the day by setting up the tent in the backyard. Trey thought it was a great new spot to play.
Later that day he ran through the sprinkler. At some point he thought it would be a great idea to try some hose water - oh my little Trey :-)
Chas did a great job manning grill for dinner - ribs, hamburgers, and corn on the cob!
After dinner we had our campfire in the fire pit complete with s'mores and peanut butter rice krispies (with roasted marshmallows on top....mmmm!).
Trey loved seeing and catching lightening bugs.
Finally, it was time to crawl into the tent and sleep. Trey was out like a light after staying up way past his bedtime. We couldn't help but take some pictures of our little baby sound asleep the next morning - I guess all that fresh air and running around really got the best of him!
The next morning we started a morning fire to sit at, enjoy our morning tea, and eat breakfast. What a great new memory and maybe a new tradition to celebrate the 4th!
