This 4th of July we tried something new: a parade. Trey (and of course Xavier too) has never been to a parade. So when the 4th of July parade rolled around we decided to introduce him to the excitement of picking up all the candy thrown and waving to all the people in the parade .
On our way to find a good spot for the parade we passed some monster trucks and snapped a quick photo.
While waiting for the parade to start Trey snacked on a banana while we coached him on the basics of collecting candy from the floats.
About halfway through the parade Xavier woke up to see the floats and people.
And Trey finally got his chance to pick up some candy. By the end he refused to walk more than 2 feet for any candy thrown out because it was too far and he was too tired to make the effort (our lazy little boy!).
It was a great way to start the 4th - I think we'll have to make attending this parade a tradition!
