A New Zoo

A few weeks ago we finally used our zoo pass to visit another zoo - the Akron Zoo - and had a great time seeing a new place.

Trey requested to see the bald eagle first (the had learned all about patriotic topics at school and he's been obsessed with the bald eagle ever since...).  After visiting the eagle we found all the little areas the zoo had to offer.  Trey jumped along all the numbers and did his days of the week in this little garden area.

And he loved seeing and touching the sea life inside the jelly fish building.  He also loved seeing the jelly fish (they were pretty amazing) and went through that exhibit 2 times!

His favorite part of the day by far was the little frontier town.  They had a kid-sized market store and log cabin.  He probably played house and store checker for an hour with the kids that wandered into this are while we sat in the shade and watched him use his great imagination.

As we were leaving he decided to see the penguins one last time.  Xavier & Trey even got a picture in these big penguin statues.  It was a great way to spend a relaxing Sunday afternoon and to see a new zoo - we're definitely excited and determined to see some other new zoos after this great experience.
